A Little About Bugpin

Bugpin Tattoo Studio is a small, woman and artist owned tattoo studio in downtown Flint, Michigan. We wanted to create a space where people could feel comfortable being themselves, connect with their artist, and enjoy getting tattooed in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

We’re an LGBTQIA+ friendly and inclusive studio, and we care about making everyone who walks through our door feel welcome and respected. Whether you’re coming in with a fully planned idea or need some help figuring out the details, we want you to feel comfortable asking questions and sharing what matters to you.

A Comfortable Place to Get Tattooed

We work by appointment only, which helps keep the studio quiet and gives our artists time to focus on each client. With just three artists, things stay personal and relaxed.

Our studio has an open layout with half walls separating the tattoo spaces. We also have a private room available for clients who would feel more comfortable with extra privacy. If that’s something you’d like for your appointment, let your artist know when booking.

You’re welcome to make yourself at home while you’re here. We have a complimentary coffee and snack bar, along with water and sodas in the fridge. Clients can also use our microwave and fridge, so feel free to bring lunch if you’re settling in for a longer session.

Our Artists

Bugpin is home to Kelly Martin, Rosie Cole, and Iram Withencroft. Each artist brings their own style, interests, and approach to tattooing. We love that our clients have different artists to connect with while still getting the comfortable, personal experience that makes Bugpin special.

Each artist manages their own appointments. Visit their individual pages to browse their work, learn more about them, and find their booking information. We offer tattoos only and do not offer piercing services or walk-in appointments.

Right in the Heart of Downtown Flint

You’ll find us on the second floor of the historic Economy Building, above Café Rhema, with our entrance in Buckham Alley. Our wall of floor to ceiling windows overlooks downtown and the Flat Lot, giving us a great view of the city and its summer events.

There are plenty of places to grab food, coffee, or explore within a short walk, and the Hilton Garden Inn is right next door for anyone visiting from out of town. We offer a complimentary parking pass for the Rutherford parking structure, and there are also free and paid parking options nearby.

Because we’re upstairs in a historic building, the studio is accessible by stairs only and does not have an elevator. Please keep this in mind when planning your visit, and reach out if you have questions about accessing the space.

We’re proud to be part of downtown Flint and to have a space where art, individuality, and community are welcome. We look forward to having you here!
